Training & Support

Everyone who works with the Sleep United franchise has their own particular skills and strengths, and we find we all complement each other perfectly. We want you to develop your own personality and style to bring to the role too, and we want you to feel that you are very much in control of your own business. So, we won’t be overloading you with information about how exactly we think you should be doing every aspect of your job. After all, franchising is all about you being in the driving seat!

However, our success comes from a tried and tested approach that you can replicate to get the same incredible results for your own business. We will do everything we can to prepare you for the role, and will make sure you fully understand how to implement our model, and how to make it work for you.

We have devised a comprehensive training programme to teach you everything you need to know to open your own Sleep United outlet. This will include:

Operational Training

Initial training will take place at our flagship store and head office in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and will focus on all the operational aspects of running a store, including managing the business and your team, admin, accounts and logistics, your responsibilities as a franchisee, and our duties to you as a franchisor.

Becoming a certified Mattress Medic™

During this time, you will also be trained on how to deliver the expert diagnostic service that sets Sleep United apart. You will learn how to understand what a customer really needs from a new bed or mattress, and how to provide them with the right options and products.

Sales Training

This will be followed by a further two days bespoke sales training delivered by a specialist provider. You will be able to learn a variety of sales techniques that are in line with our unique way of doing business, as well as how to handle customer service, and ensure the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.

Ongoing Support

As a franchise partner in an ongoing business, our relationship does not end when you are ready to open your own showroom. We will continue to support you as much as we can for as long as we work together. At the end of the day, your success is our success, so it is in our interest to help you as much as we possibly can.

Our franchisees come from all different walks of life, and so our support is likewise tailored to their individual needs. However, someone from our team will be there with you during at least the first week of opening your new store to help you iron out any teething problems, build confidence in dealing with customers, and start getting those first few precious sales.

After that, we will arrange a time to visit you at least once every quarter to see how you are doing and make sure you have everything you need. You will also be able to call on us at any time if you need advice or guidance.
