Be a people person
While selling your product to customers is obviously a big part of it, this role is not about sales – it is about people. You need to be someone who is willing to be an integral part of the customer-facing side of your business. You need to be someone who can greet every customer with a smile and build that all important rapport – if you can do that, the sales will follow.

You’ll also need to be someone who is comfortable leading a team, and inspiring them to represent the brand in the best way possible.

Have an understanding of customer service
You’ll need to be someone who appreciates how customers think and feel, and is willing to take the time to understand their needs. The approach that has made Sleep United so successful is based on this understanding and how we can use it to guide customers to the right product. It is how we deliver a complete customer experience from the moment they walk in the door right up to the moment they get into their new bed.

With our help, you’ll always be able to keep your promises, but it will be your professional and friendly attitude that helps customers believe you’ll deliver on them.

Have the right basic skills
We’re not looking for any particular qualifications, but you will need to be someone who has a good standard of written and spoken English, is confident they can get to grips with their showroom’s accounts, and has a basic understanding of the most common IT systems.
The drive and motivation to succeed
Even with a proven business model like ours, there is no such thing as a 100% guarantee of success. We can give you all the tools, training, and products you need, but it is ultimately down to you how you use them to build your own successful business. You need to be someone who is willing to put in all the hard work and dedication required to make this work, and be willing to closely follow the system we have put into place for you.
